Mediation for a Collaborative Work Environment:
This course is recommended for human resource departments and businesses, which face conflicts between co-workers, supervisors and management. This interactive training introduces participants to the process of mediation and utilizes a variety of instructional techniques including supervised role-plays, demonstrations and small group exercises. The course develops skills and introduces a specific, practical process that they can utilize on a daily basis to assist personnel in conflict situations with colleagues to promote a win-win solution for the parties involved.
Diversity and Multiculturalism:
This workshop is designed not only to foster greater understanding of diversity and multiculturalism, but to also uncover the personal side of these issues. Participants will explore their own feelings and biases, while gaining knowledge about other cultures and how to effectively and professionally work with others. This training can be modified for any type of office / business environment.
This training focuses on fostering leadership skills through hands-on experiential activities. The participants will interact, while learning decision-making skills, mediation skills and techniques of facilitation. The workshop demonstrates the qualities of leadership, while unmasking the misconceptions and fallacies of perceived leadership.
Having A Difficult Conversation
This interactive workshop explores what makes conversations difficult and how to utilize techniques to get to the interests of the parties involved in the conflict. The course develops skills and introduces practical processes that one can employ when having a difficult conversation. Typically, people are reluctant to discuss difficult topics for fear of the consequences. This session offers instruction on getting to the core issues within a conflict to find a resolution. Participants will practice raising and clarifying the issues, gathering information within difficult conversations, as well as enhancing their problem solving skills.
In this training, adults will benefit by developing intergroup and interpersonal skills through experiential activities. The training attempts to build understanding through a variety of activities that build trust and foster teamwork. Participants will be challenged through diverse, hands-on activities to work together, communicate effectively and build confidence with members of a team.
Circle Dialogue Process / Problem Solving Circles:
This training introduces the circle problem solving process to enhance a positive and collaborative work environment. The circle process is being used for decision-making, problem solving and conflict resolution in the Boardroom, at staff meetings, among co-workers and collective office environments. Circle dialogue process fosters effective communication and team building in the workforce.
This workshop is designed to assist participants in gathering the most effective information regarding a conflict. The training will foster skills in how to open a conversation, questions to get information, to get at the parties interests, to get at consequences and questions to get at solutions. The participants will learn how to utilize this questioning process to facilitate effective conversations. The questions will elicit descriptive information, facts, feelings and perspective and most importantly new thinking. Attendees will participate in hands-on activities and collaborative assignments.
Paraphrasing, Summarizing and Reframing
This training focuses on fostering effective communication through summarizing, paraphrasing and reframing techniques. Summarizing, paraphrasing and reframing are used to clarify, specify and depersonalize information. Once information is retooled into these formats, disputants are more likely to listen to both sides of a complaint. Additionally, these three techniques assist in keeping a conversation on track, structured and checking for understanding. Participants will enhance their skills through role-plays and practical activities.
This session will introduce participants to skills that will assist in the reduction of the intensity within a conflict. Disputes can arise rapidly, de-escalation techniques can offer tools to intentionally and gradually reduce the tension and stress of a situation. Attendees will participate in developing tools to de-escalate conflict and assisting the parties in remaining future focused for the benefit of the entire community. The training will examine de-escalatory language, dealing with destructive speech, ground rules, managing strong emotions and peacekeeping.
How to Get Along – Other ways to work it out!!:
This workshop is designed to lead managers, supervisors, co-workers and others, through a variety of experiences to explore their most effective responses to conflict within the workplace. It is an introduction to the concepts of conflict resolution and alternatives to traditional methods of discipline. Focusing on resolutions, individuals are held accountable for their actions, take responsibility and learn from the conflict.
